Our automatic backwash filters deliver continuous high-flow liquid filtration with PLC-controlled cleaning, 25–3000 μm precision, and minimal maintenance — no cartridge changes, just consistent performance and less downtime.
JX Filtration offers a full range of automatic backwash filters designed for continuous, high-flow liquid filtration with minimal operator intervention. These filters remove suspended solids and particulate matter from low-viscosity liquids, reducing turbidity, bacteria, algae, and rust to protect downstream equipment from clogging, wear, and fouling.
Available in fully automatic configurations with PLC-controlled cleaning cycles, our backwash filters are ideal for 24/7 industrial operations where uninterrupted flow is critical. With filtration precision from 25 to 3000 microns and flow capacities to match virtually any application, they deliver consistent filtration quality while eliminating frequent cartridge replacement and manual disassembly.
The automatic backwash filter operates through two alternating phases:
Filtration Phase: Liquid enters the filter housing and passes through the filter elements—available in wedge wire, perforated screen, sintered mesh, or woven wire configurations. Particles larger than the screen opening are trapped on the inner surface of the elements, while clean liquid flows out through the outlet. The filter can be equipped with multiple elements arranged to provide maximum filtering area within a compact footprint.
Backwashing Phase: When the differential pressure across the filter reaches a preset level (typically adjustable from 0.02 to 0.5 MPa), or after a set time interval (programmable from 1 to 720 minutes), the cleaning cycle is automatically triggered. The PLC control system initiates the backwash sequence: the drain valve opens while the drive motor rotates the filter wheel, directing a reverse flow of clean filtrate through each filter element in succession. The reverse flow dislodges accumulated solids from the screen surface, and the contaminant-laden backwash fluid is discharged through the drain valve. Each group of filter elements is backwashed in turn. The entire cleaning process lasts only tens of seconds and causes no interruption to the main flow. Once complete, the drain valve closes and the filter resumes normal filtration.
Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel 304, 316, 316L, SS2205 duplex stainless steel, and SS2507 super duplex steel.
